Senior Technical Product Owner

Job Description:

Responsibilities

1. Requirements & Backlog Ownership

• Break down high-level business and system requirements into clear Epics, User Stories, and Tasks


• Ensure all backlog items meet a strong “Ready for Development” standard


• Maintain a well-groomed, prioritised backlog across multiple feature areas


• Support product leadership with prioritisation and delivery planning

2. Technical Understanding & Architecture Alignment

• Develop a strong understanding of internal data models and system architecture


• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to design scalable solutions


• Validate technical feasibility, dependencies, risks, and downstream impact


• Document integration logic, data mapping, workflows, and system behaviour

3. Integration Leadership

• Own requirements for system-to-system integrations (APIs, financial systems, external platforms, identity services, etc.)


• Define API contracts, error handling, sync logic, and data transformation rules


• Work directly with external technical teams when required

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the technical counterpart to developers on the product side


• Work closely with Business Owners, QA, Customer Support, and other stakeholders


• Ensure requirements reflect real user and business needs


• Communicate scope, risks, dependencies, and timelines clearly

5. Delivery & Release Support

• Provide ongoing clarification during development


• Ensure acceptance criteria, edge cases, and non-functional requirements are captured


• Support QA with testing scenarios and validation


• Assist with release readiness and supporting documentation

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

• Strong technical background (e.g. former backend developer, system integrator, or technical analyst)


• Hands-on experience with APIs, data models, and distributed systems


• Proven experience writing clear, structured technical requirements


• Solid experience working with Jira and disciplined backlog management


• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills


• Comfortable working across complex systems, teams, and geographies

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with ERP, finance, or property management systems


• Experience working on multi-country or multi-tenant SaaS platforms


• Exposure to distributed or remote engineering teams
